Uni Firenze hosts first BLACKOUT team meeting

On February 25-27, 2020 the Physics and Astronomy Department of the University of Firenze, directed by Prof. Alessandro Marconi, will host the first meeting of the BLACKOUT team at the Arcetri Astrophysical Observatory. Astrophysicists from all over Italy will gather to update on the project progress and to coordinate the best strategy to achieve optimal exploitation of the project resources.

The main goal of the BLACKOUT project is assess the role of Black-Hole feedback in the building of massive galaxies – by exploiting the unprecedented spectro-imaging capabilities of today’s astrophysical flagship facilities MUSE, SINFONI at the ESO/VLT, and ALMA to target ionized and molecular gas in AGN host galaxies.

BLACKOUT is funded by PRIN MIUR contract 2017PH3WAT.
